Drilling To Commence On Eva Kitto Property (PGE, Ni-Cu Ultramafic Complex Nipigon Plate, Thunder Bay, Ontario)

May 14, 2003

Maple Minerals Corp. (“Maple”) and East West Resource Corporation (“East West”) are pleased to announce that they have been advised by Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. (“Kennecott”) that diamond drilling is scheduled to commence on the Eva Kitto Property on May 16, 2003. One hole is planned and additional drilling will depend on results. Maple and East West have recently entered into an option agreement with Kennecott whereby Kennecott may earn an initial 51% interest in the 195 claim unit Eva Kitto Property by spending $2,000,000 over 4 years. A 65% interest may be earned by Kennecott making a “Decision to Mine”, that is, a decision to bring the property into commercial mineral production.

The Eva Kitto Property covers a 6 mile diameter cone ring ultramafic complex which has similar dimensions to the Talna’k intrusion in Siberia which hosts world class Cu-Ni-PGE sulphide deposits. Previous air borne surveys have outlined a number of EM conductors around the margin of the ultramafic suite and excellent sulphur sources occur in the basement rocks including an iron formation along the north margin of the complex.

Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. is a subsidiary of Rio Tinto of London, England.

East West Resource Corporation is a Vancouver based resource company whose common shares are listed on the TSXV under the symbol “EWR”.

Maple Minerals Corp. is a Toronto based resource company whose common shares are listed on the TSXV under the symbol “YMP”.
