Mt. Kakoulima Nickel Project, Guinee, West Africa; Update on West Grid Drilling; Drilling Underway on North Grid

November 15, 2004
  • Update on West Grid drilling
  • Drilling underway on North Grid

TORONTO, ONTARIO, November 15, 2004 – Maple Minerals Corp. ("Maple") (TSXV:MPM) announced that a total of 1,081 metres of drilling in four boreholes has been completed on the West Grid, and the basal contact of the Kaloum Igneous Complex (KIC) has been established. Borehole pulse EM geophysical surveys on the West Grid did not yield significant anomalies. The drill rig has now been moved to our principal exploration area on the North Grid, with the initial set-up down stratigraphy of the initial Semafo discovery area, which yielded a one metre thick horizon of massive sulphide with average grades of 3.6% Ni, 1.1% Cu, 0.15% Co and 3 g/t Pt+Pd+Au. Drilling is underway to investigate the KIC basal contact on the North Grid. An additional 4,000 metres are planned for this phase of the drilling.

Having just returned from Guinée, Gino Falzone, President of Maple, stated “The first three weeks of drilling have gone well. Establishing the basal contact on the West Grid was an important step in the interpretive process. We look forward to the drilling on the North Grid”.
