  • Airborne EM Completed on Powell and Burchell Properties

  • New airborne EM Conductors located in Powell

TORONTO, ONTARIO, February 1, 2005 – Maple Minerals Corp. (“Maple”) (“MPM”; TSXV) is pleased to announce that a second drill has been mobilized to test numerous IP anomalies and new EM conductors on the Hamlin and Powell properties (contiguous properties). These targets lie on structures that extend from the Moss Lake gold deposit and Ardeen Mine (presently being explored by Gold Corp.). Drilling completed before Christmas had intersected a 15 m sheared quartz-eye porphyry that contained consistent gold values across a 15 m interval that assayed 0.5-1.1 g gold/tonne (News Release dated December 1, 2004). IP anomalies along strike will be tested as well as parallel anomalies.

Recently a time domain helicopter EM survey extend the coverage across the Powell and Clay portion of the land holding and detected one regional shear as well as two strong discrete anomalies that will be added to the list of drill targets. Another drill is presently testing targets on the Burchell portion of the land holdings where several new targets were recently outlined by a detailed helicopterborne EM survey.

Robert S. Middleton, P. Eng., is the designated Qualified Person and is responsible for the verification and quality assurance of the exploration data and analytical results.
